The school counselors at Shawnee Early Childhood Center work alongside teachers and parents to help students develop socially and emotionally, and help remove any barriers students have to learning. Our counselors understand the developmental changes of childhood, and they are excited and honored to serve families and children.

Counselors provide

  • classroom lessons teaching social skills and how to take care of big feelings

  • consultation with parents and teachers

  • community resource referrals

  • schoolwide programming (Kindness Week, Career Day, and more)

  • an age-appropriate introduction to future college and career paths
